At Pilates School of Movement, we teach Classical Pilates, also known as Contrology. It’s a full-body system designed to strengthen, stretch, and balance. The exercises follow a set sequence — not to be strict nor rigid, but to give you rhythm, focus, and a clear sense of progress.

That consistency actually creates freedom. You don’t have to guess what’s coming next — you can drop into the movement, breathe, and connect. When the exercises become familiar that’s when you start to feel real change. You get stronger, more precise, and more confident. Moves become part of your flow.

And yes — it’s fun. We smile, we sweat, we challenge ourselves, but it’s never about perfection. The order of the work gives you freedom to explore and grow without pressure. There’s a playful rhythm to the practice that builds energy and makes you feel good in your body.

In our Classical Pilates studio, we work with the full range of apparatus Joseph Pilates designedthe Reformer, Tower, Wunda Chair, Mat, and more. That gives us options to adapt to all kinds of bodies and needs: whether you want a strong workout, support during rehab, or something tailored to specific conditions. The system meets you where you are — it’s never one-size-fits-all. It’s about you, your body, and how you feel that day. Progress comes from an evolving practice, using each class as an opportunity to discover or rediscover. With more than 500 exercises all invented by Joseph Pilates, it’s never dull or repetitive. It’s fun, and freedom comes from that exploration.

We’re based in Saint Gilles-Châtelain, and we’re currently the only  studio in Brussels fully dedicated to the Classical Pilates method, offering not only Privates but also Group classes. It’s something we really love to share — it’s a system that’s intelligent, adaptable, and built to evolve with you.

You might come across contemporary styles — which can be inspired by Pilates but usually brings in other movement influences. That approach resonates with many people, and we’re always happy to see movement explored in different ways. We simply love the Classical path — clear, connected, and rooted in the original work of Joseph Pilates.

And above all, we love our community: small groups supporting and cheering each other on, laughing, having fun, enjoying movement, and enjoying life. That’s what makes it special. That’s what keeps us inspired.
